We are down to the fabled Final Four. This is where most of you must finally give up those last vestiges of hope onto which you were clinging, because you're toast. A few of you, however, are starting to think, "I just might win this thing!" And many of you are just plain pissed (in the American sense of the word, Lucy, though I dunno, maybe you're drunk too!) at me. Go on. Let me know what you think of the Final Four:
On the Waterfront
vs.
Raging Bull
Casablanca
vs.
To Kill a Mockingbird

Verrrrry interesting! It's down to Jen, Looney and Brad. Jen and Looney both have On the Waterfront vs. Casablanca for their championship match, while Brad has To Kill a Mockingbird (and Citizen Kane, which is out). So basically, Brad can only win if To Kill a Mockingbird beats Raging Bull in the finals (if that happens, Nat, you'll jump up, but only to 2nd place -- sorry!). Any other combo in the championship match and it's going to come down to Looney and Jen battling it out. I'd pay good money to see that. Luckily, it's my contest so I don't have to!

I don't have to rag at you. My score ALONE proves you're full of it! :-)
Full of beauty and goodness, you mean!
Grats to the frontrunners -- well done.
Here's lookin at you, Bogey, to pull it out in the end. It would be some consolation if I at least picked the overall winner.
Schadenfreude, you've no idea how long I toiled over Kane vs. OTW -- which your winning potential obviously hinged upon. That was the toughest call of the four for me.
This is so exciting! When do we find out??
Tomorrow I'll reveal the final matchup, with the Champion on Friday!
Ooooh very exciting! I didn't think I'd have so many picks in this round. I really thought you were going to go for Citizen Kane, and Mockingbird seemed like such a dark horse at this point.
I think I can take Looney. I'm pretty scrappy, and I pull hair.
I dropped down the leaders board so fast that a few more rounds and i would of dropped so low i would of ended up on the post before. If i was pissed when i chose my films i might of done better, but shamefuklly i do not have that excuse, i was sober.
4 great films left and i would be hard pressed to pick an outright winner but Raging Bull would just nick it over Mockingbird in the final. Mainly because of the De Niro factor.
Waterfront causes me the big goose egg, but I can't say I'm disappointed to see Kane go down. Now I root for Mockingbird, even though I didn't pick it out of the gate against Taxi Driver. Now that I see the Final Four, I believe Bird may be Kos's top pick.
Go Brad! ;)
Jen:
You're starting to turn me on... stoppit.
I really struggled with Waterfront vs. Kane, too, but in the end, I had to go with my preference, as both are towering titans. We'll see what comes. Very cool :-)
Go Mockingbird (Hey, I'll settle for 2nd!)
Game on! I think I've got a shot, but something tells me that Waterfront has a chance at taking it all. Is it ESP? Or do I know what Kos' favorite film in the whole world is? Hmmmmm...
While there is no way I can win point-wise, I am thrilled that my pick ended up in the Final Four. And that I'm not in last place any more. LOL
Thanks for this, Jeff. As an avid basketball avoider, I've never had so much fun with a bracket!
Three of those movies, I've never seen. *hangs head in shame*
But the one I have seen will win, and deservedly so.
"You played it for her, you can play it for me. If she can stand it, I can! Play it!"
We sing a fabulous a capella arrangement, but not very well yet.
OK, I definitly agree that you need to do the comedy bracket. I would like the chance to redeem myself just a little...
